Here are a couple of Android apps with which to start the week off right. Pinkberry hit Google Play with their official app for the frozen yogurt chain and its especially fun for loyal customers. Weve also got Shadowgun: DeadZone, a beta version of the new multiplayer shooter from Madfinger Games. Youll need a Tegra 3 device, but you can help them polish the game and the network code before its official release.
Pinkberry (Free)
Whats it about? The popular frozen yogurt chain now offers an Android app which lets you enjoy rewards, cool features, and exclusive offers.
Whats cool? You can search for flavors and stores nearby and pay for your yogurt with your phone. Youll also be the first to know about new flavor launches or when your favorite flavor returns to a nearby store. The rewards side of things is pretty cool and offers a free small yogurt just for registering, a free small yogurt with toppings after every tenth purchase and even one on your birthday!
Who is it for? Clearly, folks who love to eat at Pinkberry will appreciate their official app, especially people who sign-up for their loyalty program because of the bonus rewards they can gain for using it.
Whats it like? Competing yogurt store, Red Mango, also has a dedicated Android app complete with loyalty rewards. There is also a yogurt chain called Orange Leaf with an official app, but it doesnt really offer much.
Shadowgun: DeadZone (Free)
Whats it about? Heres your chance to beta-test the brand new Shadowgun game, and help out with its development before its released to everyone.
Whats cool? The game is out soon, so if you want to be one of the first people to play it, why not download it? A little bug-crunching will help ensure the final, shipped product is better. This time, its a third-person multiplayer shooter which promises plenty of action. You can play as either a soldier, mutant, assassin or dancer and compete in either death match or zone control across two maps using one of seven different weapons.
Who is it for? Fans of the first Shadowgun game who want to get in on the sequels multiplayer action will definitely want to check it out. However, you will need a Tegra 3 device to play along.
Whats it like? Shadowgun and Shadowgun THD (optimized for Tegra 3 devices) are still available and offer plenty of gun-wielding action, but without the multiplayer element. Another popular Madfinger title worth a look is Dead Trigger.
