Sprint Intros A Bunch Of New Tablet Data Plans, Here's The Breakdown
Sprint, starting November 11th, will be launching a slew of new tablet data plans - and some of them actually don't sound that bad, if you're a current Sprint smartphone subscriber. Here are the plans, for both 3G and 4G LTE tablets:
- With Sprint Smartphone Plan
- 100MB: $10/month
- 1GB: $15/month
- Without
- 300MB: $15/month
- 3GB: $35/month
- 6GB: $50/month
- 12GB: $80/month
If you're a Sprint subscriber, $15 a month for a commitment-free 1GB tablet plan isn't bad. Of course, LTE tablets aren't much use on Sprint's network yet, considering there isn't much in the way of coverage. But if you need a way to connect and don't want to tether (for whatever reason), Sprint 3G is still probably good enough for email and some light web browsing.
The issue, of course, is that you'll need a Sprint-ready tablet with a mobile data connection, and pickings are on the slim side. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, iPad, and iPad Mini are the only currently-announced Sprint LTE tablets, and none of them are available yet. Though if you do buy one soon, they'll wave the activation fee as part of a limited time offer. Anyways, the new tablet plans are here - what do you think, still pretty useless as long as you know tethering exists?
